We'll install MySQL using Homebrew, so I'll assume that you have it installed, if not, please do so, here is the official page
Keep in mind that version 8.0 is not compatible with Node.js Auth, if that is your aim, you need another method of installation. Please go here.
On the terminal, run the following command:
/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"
Now we have to update homebrew to get the latest version:
brew install mysql
Run the MySQL daemon:
brew services start mysql
Set a rudimentary password for MySQL locally, there is no need to worry about security because it will only be accessible from your machine (I used “newPassword”).
mysqladmin -u root password newPassword
Once installed and running, MySQL is accessible to any app running locally on your machine.
